Experience Esrum Monastery
Come a couple of hours before the walking concert and experience Esrum Kloster & Møllegård:
At 13:00 we have an adult tour of the monastery courtyard. Here you’ll hear 900 years of monastic history in around 20 minutes.
Inside the thick monastery walls you’ll find the stories of the Cistercian monks who dedicated their lives to their faith. Enjoy the sounds of the monks’ prayers and travel back in time with VR glasses to the heyday of the monastery. You can also try our Reformation game, where the history of Denmark is in your hands.
Also visit the exhibition Eye For Landscape, curated by cultural geographer Emmy Laura Pérez Fjalland on the 2nd floor. Opened in early 2026, the exhibition opens up the countless stories that lie in the monastic landscape.
Access to Esrum Monastery requires a single ticket, which can be purchased in the monastery shop upon arrival
