Late summer is the best time of year to see dragonflies flying in the countryside around Esrum Abbey. These fascinating and vibrantly colored insects are the largest we have in Denmark—come out and experience them and their world.
I wonder what it’s like to be a dragonfly and, with its mosaic eyes, see almost the entire world at once? On this walk, we’ll use the dragonfly as our guide—not merely as a metaphor, but as a concrete starting point for understanding and training our own senses, awareness, and way of being in the world.
On this hike, you’ll learn to see the world through the eyes of a dragonfly, understand nature through its most skilled hunter, and train your awareness and reflexes as you move calmly and mindfully through nature
A guided hike
The tour guide is Bolette Borg, who holds the distinguished title of Ambassador for the Dragonfly—specifically, the species known as the Blue Dragonfly. Bolette also has a background in the mindfulness movement, poetry, and body phenomenology, and on this walk she will therefore build a bridge between nature, physical expression, and sensory perception.
