Free lecture and conversation about nature views

The climate crisis is not only a technological and political challenge – it’s also a crisis of the imagination, because we’ve become so separated from nature that we’ve almost forgotten what it’s like to be part of it.
In Earthshine, landscape architect Stefan Darlan Boris takes the audience on a sensory journey through garden cinemas, green caves and luminous landscapes. But what do Joy Division, quantum physics and the moon have to do with the climate crisis?
The lecture shows how art and landscape architecture can help us rediscover nature as a shared living space and open up new ways of understanding and acting – because it’s hard to find solutions to the crisis if we can’t first imagine how nature will change.
Hopefully, the talk will leave you with a new perspective on the climate crisis: not just as incomprehensible statistics, but as concrete opportunities to rethink our relationship with the earth. Earthshine inspires to use imagination, emotion and aesthetics to drive sustainable solutions

Meet the speaker

Stefan Darlan Boris is a landscape architect, PhD and associate professor at Aarhus School of Architecture, where he researches and teaches urban nature, landscape architecture and our sensory encounters with the environment.

His work revolves around how we can rethink the relationship between people and nature – not just as function and climate adaptation, but as experience, aesthetics and shared living space.

Stefan Darlin Boris works at the intersection of art, research and practice and is interested in how landscapes can open up new ways of understanding, using and being part of nature
