Kilden Foundation
An inclusive haven
Imagine a place where everyone is seen as a whole person with more opportunities than challenges. Such a place is the social economy company Fonden Kilden, located at Esrum Kloster & Møllegård.
Meaningful collaboration
Can a social economy company that develops young people and adults with special needs have a meaningful collaboration with a historical site that creates natural and cultural experiences for people? Absolutely! At Esrum Kloster & Møllegård, the two things go hand in hand.
Meet us
The students and employees at Fonden Kilden are an important part of caring for and running Esrum Kloster & Møllegård. You can meet the students and staff in the monastery garden tending the many plants, with the mower in the apple orchard, behind the counter in Møllecaféen, at one of the monthly public kitchens or at the various events at Esrum Kloster & Møllegård.
A socio-economic enterprise
Fonden Kilden is a social economy company with both education and production as its activities. Through education and employment, young people develop in a way that turns special needs into special skills of the kind that businesses can use. When students and employees meet guests in the area as representatives of the place, they feel that they contribute meaningful work that is valued and important to Esrum Kloster & Møllegård. And that makes a difference!
Møllecaféen: A special dining house
Students, employees and trained professionals run the Mill Café. Some are responsible for preparing the ingredients in the kitchen, others are in charge of the actual cooking, baking bread or arranging the plates. The students who have the most flair for serving guests, and perhaps have a desire to become waiters, can be found in the café.
Finally, some of the students make sure that the café looks great for your guests. They set the table with tablecloths, napkins, crockery and decorate with nice flower arrangements, so it’s always cozy and nice to be here.
People's kitchen
In collaboration with Esrum Kloster &Møllegård, Fonden Kilden invites you to a People’s Kitchen six times a year. Kilden’s young people prepare everything for the dinner: they set the beautiful long tables, make table decorations, prepare the food, arrange and serve the food to all the diners. The food varies according to what ingredients are in season and is predominantly organic.
