Start your visit here
In the shop you can buy your ticket to Esrum Kloster & Møllegård. You’ll also find a cornucopia of hand-picked quality goods.
Authentic monastery & convent products
The shelves are stocked with our own unique Esrum products, including beer, honey and mead. We also obtain delicacies hand made by monks and nuns in active monasteries and convents in France, Belgium and the Czech Republic. These include lemon marmalade, plum and cherry jam, and perfumes, creams and soaps scented with jasmine, lavender and aloe vera. Of course, our range also includes the world-famous Trappist beers.
Luxury items
You can also treat yourself to the softest wool sweaters, socks and throws. Binge on French delicacies such as truffle butter, game pâtés and fig glaze, or pore over books on crafts, history, outdoor activities and cooking. If the great outdoors is your thing, we have walking maps, thermal mugs and classic French penknives. For children (and their adults) we have a great selection of books, games and toys for socialising and play.
Items from our common history
Both in the Middle Ages and still today, abbeys were/are manufacturers. They utilise what surrounds them; the income helps to keep the abbeys running. Throughout Europe, there are monasteries and convents that still make soaps, creams and much more besides. In the shop, visitors encounter this tradition. Often the marmalades and jams, which the nuns stir themselves, are made using ancient recipes. In other words, they stem from our common history. It is all about hands. We hand pick the goods we carry in our shop because they are all made by hand with love, and are of the highest quality.
